What to get a designer for christmas

Well I am posting this because I couldn’t think of what I wanted for Christmas or my Birthday. I did a bit of searching and thinking of my own and now I present to you what to get a designer for their birthday or Christmas.

What to get a Graphic Designer For Christmas / Birthday.

  • New Books (Or a voucher for a book store that sells graphic design books - you can never have enough books)
  • Pens & Pencils (Different sizes, colours)
  • A large clock to track their time
  • Wacom Digital Graphics Tablet
  • Graphic Design Magazine Subscriptions
  • Computer Goods

    • More RAM
    • Screen Calibrator
    • New Video Card
    • New Mouse (I recommend Logitech MX Revolution)
    • New Computer (For those rich ones )
    • New 24″ or 30″ Monitor (For those rich ones )

  • New Software (Adobe Suite, what more can I say)
  • Software Updates
  • Drafting Table
  • Lightbox
  • Sketch Pads (Big and Small)
  • Easel
  • Blank Canvases or Folders
  • MANY Post It Notes
  • A Digital Camera
  • New Bigger & Better Scanner
  • New Printer (Hopefully multifunction with photocopier)

    Hi Ana,

Im assuming you meant Cintiq 20 WSX? Widescreen is cool. I also had a look at your blog, have you ever thought about installing a traslator on your blog?

    Thanks. Regards, Jacob.

i’m a mainly a web programmer but i have started getting into design with side jobs and have been working on a design for my own site in photoshop off and on for a little while now. is there a specific graphics tablet that you would recommend for someone that doesn’t do too much design (yet). also, what are some key things to look out for when buying a tablet?

    Hi Matt,

I have never used a graphics tablet before however a friend of mine named Lauren at Creative Curio wrote an article about tablets here: http://creativecurio.com/2008/.....n-tablets/ All the best.

I’d definitely support that list.. So far on it i’ve gotten (in one birthday):
    * Logitech speakers
    * Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse set (minimum features possible)
    * New custom PC (1GB ram, Dual Core, 160GB harddrive, etc.)

Now all I need is Creative Suite and a new Monitor (900$AUD Apple 23inch display) and I’m set :D
