“Make Beautiful Things” – Tips from Saul Bass
Published on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 – 6:13 amI recently came across this series of short video clips taken from Saul Bass‘ documentary and this one really stood out for me: Making Money VS Quality Work. I highly recommend watching this short video.
The fact of the matter is, I want everything we do, that I do personally, that our office does, to be beautiful. I don’t give a damn whether the client understands that that’s worth anything, or that the client thinks it’s worth anything, or whether it is worth anything. It’s worth it to me. It’s the way I want to live my life. I want to make beautiful things, even if nobody cares. —Saul Bass

Amazing to think that these men (Paul Rand, Saul Bass, etc) were so far ahead of their time, they were creating work that even with all the technology today, still stands as timeless classic work.
