Simplicity Sells

Simplicity

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”
~ Leonardo da Vinci

I thoroughly enjoyed this talk by David Pogue and thought it was worth sharing. Pogue takes aim at technology’s worst interface-design offenders, and provides encouraging examples of products that get it right. To funny things up, he also bursts into song. Enjoy.

Thanks for sharing this David Pogue talk. I’m a front-end web designer and also a big fan of simplicity in design. The web design industry is relatively new compared to other disciplines, as trends come and go, the foundation of design principles pretty much stay the same. Simplicity is one of those.

One of the most entertaining and funny keynotes I’ve seen so far. I really like the TEDTalks.

In my opinion it’s really important to concentrate on the core of no matter what you’re doing (design, videos, music). David Pogue is absolutely right: “Simplicity Sells”. :-)

    “Don’t cry for me Cupertino…” – awesome!

    Sebastian,
Pogue has actually done many more song spoofs, you may want to check them out.

I also found a very different approach to simplicity in another TED talk, worth watching too: http://www.ted.com/talks/george_whitesides_toward_a_science_of_simplicity.html
